An epic trip it was. I mean how could it not be? Five dudes in a rented minivan driving to Kentucky to tour bourbon country. I suggest every man in America (and maybe Canada too) make this pilgrimage.
We based ourselves in Louisville for three nights where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to keep yourself busy between all the distillery tours. We managed to find a place, Garage Bar, that had all the Pappy Van Winkles, the entire BTAC (Buffalo Trace Antique Collection) and so much more. Naturally we tasted every single one of them.
I took this opportunity to document the scenery of the Bourbon Trail and the amazing architecture of the distilleries. Each location had a different process of distilling bourbon and it was incredible to learn the strategy and recipe for some of our favorite spirits.
Here are some of the distilleries we visited during the daytime.
